Kraft Paper Tubing
I know we used the movie poster tubes for our mock up model and were having issues with the sizes of them and their quality. I've been looking online for other mailing tube companies and all have sizes we would have to change and rework; plus we would have to order mass quantities which isn't really in our budget. Instead of struggling with making sure they are the right size it might be easier to just make our own. This way we can make them to the correct sizes and thicknesses we need. It seems like a fairly simple process just a little time consuming.

Water App
i found a really cool smartphone app that we should think about having a QR code or something that could help people download to play around with. it ia called water1der and it tests your knowledge about the watercycle, aquifers, and other water related things. it is free on both iphones and droids. you should all download it if you can.

Recycling+Building Materials
Here were a couple of cool projects I found on archdaily. I thought the can cube wall and the hanging car tires were cool and pertained to a couple of the project ideas for both groups

Excalibur
I came across this today and thought about our class for some reason. This is the worlds highest climbing wall found in the Netherlands. It reaches a hight of 37 meters (121 feet) and is called Excalibur.
I thought this was fascinating because it is such a large structure with a pretty unique shape. The support structure and footing of this structure must be tremendous, I think its safe to say its a little larger than ours. The wall is for climbing and serves a purpose for the community, similar to our project.

L.A. NOW
If anyone is looking for inspiration for graphic design or graphic representation stuff make sure to check out the book L.A. NOW. I mentioned it in our lecture last week, but I just wanted to remind everyone. I'm pretty sure they have it in the library, but if not you should just buy it because it's worth it. I also believe there are multiple volumes, so be sure to check all of that business.
Themes for water channel units
Thinking about a theme or each (or pairs) of the units of the water channel
Here is a model of the life zones in colorado (from the grasshoppers and climate change webpage!!!) Integrate this with urban and agriculture and we can hit a lot of the topics that are central to the content the museum wants to convey with the exhibit.
Alpine: tundra, cushion plants, flowers, rock, ice, snow, glaciers, alpine lakes, pika, cold, wind, permafrost (sporatic in alpine tundra, unlike uniform in arctic tundra)
Sub alpine: flowers, spruce & fir trees, aspen, columbines, elk, butterflies, beetles, black bear, streams, trout, snow melt
Montane/Premontane (pondersa): poderosa, wildfires, grasses, deer, mountain lions, squirrels
Urban: highways, cement, metal, rivers, pollution, sewer, pipe lines, plumbing, people, water use, cars, trains
Agriculture: corn, monoculture, pests, canals, cattle, livestock, tractors, barns, silos, sunflowers
Prairie: prairie dogs, grasses, fires, insects, hawks, cotton woods

Colorado River supplying Mexico?
Should the Colorado River and other water sources in America be responsible for supplying water to Mexico? Would we really want Tijuana water here? Colorado part of Historic Water Treaty with Mexico
Colorado Water Conservation Board has a lot of maps and diagrams about Colorado's current state and future plans on water conservation. Working with them to gain more information for our graphic displays might be extremely beneficial.

Corner Connectors
Here are a few corner connector that I found online. The top one has the screw hole on the side like we were think of looking into, and the other two are pretty simple connectors that could be pretty easy to find or fabricate.
